Yoga and Gingerbread Classes for Kids at the West Branch

Here's what you need to know to get your week started.

Today is Monday, Jan. 21. Here's what you need to know to get your week started in Peabody.

  1. Trash and recycling pickup is delayed one day this week due to the observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday.
  2. There's a lot going on at the Peabody Institute Library this week, including Yoga Kids, a Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Group, Gingerbread Kids, art classes for adults, adult Yoga sessions, a Rainbow Loom Bracelet Craft and more. Check out the library calendar for more details.
  3. J Babies: There's a parent and infant support group that meets on Wednesdays (11:30 a.m.) at the North Suburban Jewish Community Center.
  4. The City Council meets Thursday, first for a Municipal Safety Committee meeting (6:30 p.m.) and then the regular session (7:30 p.m.).
  5. State Sen. Joan Lovely will be holding office hours for constituents Friday at City Hall (9 a.m.).
  6. Aviv Centers for Living will be celebrating Tu B’Shvat with a program designed for adults on Saturday. You can find more details here.
  7. St. John the Baptist School will be hosting an open house Sunday to  enroll new students for the 2014-2015 school year in preschool programs through grade eight.
