City Election, SkyZone, Greek Festival and Veterans Day Concert This Week

Here's what you need to know to get your week started in Peabody.

Today is Monday, Nov. 4. Here's a look at the week ahead in Peabody.

  1. Tuesday is the city's general election. You can find all you need to know about who's on the ballot and where to vote right here.
  2. And since there's no school for the Peabody Public Schools on Election Day, the Recreation Department has planned a special trip Tuesday down to SkyZone in Everett -- it's an indoor trampoline park. But first, there will be fun and games at the Brown School. More details here.
  3. Salem Cyberspace, which is a program of the North Shore Community Action Programs, is offering a free seminar and one-on-one assistance this week with filling out college applications.
  4. The Peabody Garden Club meets for its monthly gathering this Thursday at Woodbridge Assisted Living.
  5. The annual Greek Festival at St. Vasilios is coming up this weekend. The festivities start Friday evening and continue Saturday and Sunday. More details here.
  6. It's Superhero Saturday in the Children's Room. Kids in grades K-5 are welcome to don their favorite hero's costume -- or make their own -- and drop in from 11 a.m. to noon for some crafts, activities, superhero books and graphic novels. You can check out the rest of the event calendar at the Peabody Institute Library here.
  7. Mayor Bettencourt is hosting a special free concert with the We Are America Performers Sunday evening at City Hall in honor of Peabody's veterans. Veterans Day is coming Nov. 11.
