IRS to Begin Accepting Returns Soon

2012 filing date

The IRS plans to begin accepting individual tax returns on Jan. 30, 2013. This will reflect the majority of tax changes that were signed on Jan. 2. The taxpayers that require more extensive forms in order to file will be able to do so in late February or early March. The main items that will not be ready on Jan. 30 are residential energy credits, depreciation and amortization and general business credits.
