Higgins Principal Todd Bucey said more than $3,000 was raised Friday morning, which will be donated to the Connecticut PTSA Sandy Hook Fund.
Students and staff who participated in the walk were invited to wear green and white (Sandy Hook's colors) and offer a $1 donation (or more) or donate a card or snowflake.
