Repaving Begins on Lowell Street Near Rt 128 Friday

Motorists are advised to either plan for delays or seek alternate routes. Work will stretch along Lowell Street from Northshore Road to Forest Street.

Starting Friday, a highly trafficked section of Lowell Street will be under construction and motorists are advised to either plan for delays or seek alternate routes.

The city will be repaving a short section of Lowell Street -- less than a half-mile -- from Northshore Road (just off the Route 128 ramps) eastward to Forest Street, beginning with pre-paving preparation on Friday.

The work schedule is set for 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., during which city public works crews will be grinding down the existing asphalt.

Motorists who typically exit Route 128 via the Lowell Street exit are advised to seek an alternate route.
