Peabody Looks to Other Cities to Determine Raises for Light Commissioners

Light commissioners want a raise.

Peabody City Councilors want to know what other municipal light commissioners make before deciding on the proposed pay increase for their own, reported the Salem News.

During a discussion, councilors said they weren't opposed to the raise, but wanted to research it first.

The light commissioners want to approve a home rule petition, which would increase their stipends from $4,000 to $5,100, said the Salem News.
