North Andover Democratic Caucus

The following was submitted by Phil DeCologero.

Local Democrats will be gathering at the Stevens Memorial Library for their annual caucus on Wednesday, February 13th. Hosted by the North Andover Democratic Town Committee, the annual caucus begins at 7:00pm and is to elect six men and six women to represent North Andover as delegates to the Massachusetts Democratic Party state convention in June.

“Any Democrat living in North Andover, who was registered to vote by December 31st, can participate,” explained Phil DeCologero, a member of the Democratic State Committee.

The Caucus doors will open for registration at 6:30pm, with the Caucus formally beginning at 7:00pm.  Any attendee can run to fill a delegate’s position, with attendees then voting for six people of each gender to attend the 2013 state convention in Lowell on June 1st.

“At our 2013 convention, the delegates selected by North Andover Democrats will debate and adopt our platform for the next four years; catch up; and network with organizers from around the Commonwealth while also hearing from some exciting future leaders of our Party,” said John Walsh, Chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party.

The North Andover Democratic Caucus begins at 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 13th in the first floor conference room at Stevens Memorial Library.  Residents are encouraged to contact Phil DeCologero with any questions by emailing him at NADemocrats@gmail.com.
