No Salary or Stipend Increases for Mayor, City Council This Year

Mayor Ted Bettencourt, who received a 10% pay increase last year, requested the City Council not increase his $105,000 salary.

The Peabody City Council decided to not increase Mayor Ted Bettencourt’s salary on Monday. Doing so meant the council will also not increase its own annual stipend of $9,450, reported the Salem News.

Bettencourt recently requested the City Council not increase his $105,000 salary despite many department heads making more than the mayor, reported the Salem News.

Bettencourt did get a 10% increase last year. It was the first pay increase in 12 years.
