Here's the Lowdown on Leaf Pickup

There are still three weeks left for curbside leaf and yard waste collection: this week, Nov. 26 and Dec. 3.

Do you still have leaves in your yard you need to dispose of? Don't worry, there are still three weeks left for curbside pickup by the city's trash contractor.

JRM Hauling & Recycling will be collecting leaves and yard waste this week and the weeks of Nov. 26 and Dec. 3. Residents can leave their yard waste at the curb in paper bags or barrels on their regular trash pickup day, which is delayed by one day this week due to the Monday holiday.

Take note: yard waste in plastic bags will not be accepted and all yard waste should be picked up no later than 3 p.m. The mayor's office says JRM might collect regular trash first and return later in the day for yard waste.

The city had also scheduled an extra week for curbside collection (last week) due to leaves, tree limbs and branches strewn all over thanks to Hurricane Sandy.
