Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin plans to make nomination papers for Kerry’s seat available soon and would give candidates four weeks to collect the 10,000 signatures required to get on the primary ballot, according to the Globe.
To date, only U.S. Congressman Ed Markey has announced he is running and U.S. Congressman Stephen Lynch is reportedly planning a run. Both are Democrats; no Republican has yet announced.
