Danvers, Peabody Get More Liquor Licenses

The House approved more liquor licenses for Peabody and Danvers.

The House of Representatives passed legislation filed by both Danvers and Peabody to expand the number of liquor licenses they can issue to local restaurants doing business in their communities, posted State Rep. Ted Speliotis on his Facebook page.

"Over the past several years small local restaurants have become more and more popular," he wrote. "The legislation filed by both Danvers and Peabody will assist them in competing with other communities on the North Shore and will serve to improve their economic energy and vitality."

Once issued, the licenses cannot be transferred to another location or to a different establishment in that same location within the first three years.
