City Schedules One More Week of Yard Waste Pickup

JRM will collect residents' yard waste at the curb from July 22-26. Collection is free.

Due to popular demand, there will be one more week of curbside yard waste pickup in Peabody, starting Monday.

Mayor Ted Bettencourt says the additional collection week was scheduled because of a large number of requests by residents -- his office fielded many of the calls from residents needing to dispose of grass clippings and other yard waste.

JRM Hauling & Recycling will collect yard waste on normal trash days, July 22-26. Residents should place their yard waste in paper bags or barrels. Material in plastic bags will not be accepted.

All bags and barrels should be picked up by 3 p.m., but JRM may collect regular trash first and then return later for yard waste, according to the mayor's office.

There is no charge for yard waste collection. Residents can also dump their yard waste for free at the Department of Public Services at 50 Farm Ave. between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.
