A jury came back with verdicts on nine of the 11 charges against Peabody police officer Fred Wojick on Friday after hours of deliberation, but asked for more time to decide on the remaining charges.

Judge Douglas Wilkins instructed the jury to reconvene Monday in Lawrence Superior Court to decide on the remaining counts.

Wojick, 49, is accused of sexually molesting a young female family member for years, starting when she was 11, and showing both her and a juvenile friend adult pornography.

A trial got underway last Monday in Lawrence and a panel of jurors spent the week listening to testimony from the victim (now a college freshman), her mother, Wojick himself and his mother, sister and his first ex-wife.

The Salem News reports both the prosecution and defense made closing arguments Friday before jurors spent four hours deliberating on nine counts of indecent assault and battery on a minor and two counts of disseminating pornography.

The Salem News reports it wasn't disclosed which charges the jurors reached decisions on Friday.
