A Mass State trooper was taken to Salem Hospital Friday afternoon after a multi-car accident on Route 1 North near the jughandle.
The accident involved either three of four vehicles and shut down the lefthand lane.
State Police said the trooper was taken to Salem Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. State Police did not say whether there were any other injured people, but initial reports said there were multiple people injured. The cruiser reportedly sustained heavy damage.
The crash is under investigation.
