Report of Male With Nail Polish in His Eyes at CVS

The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Jan. 1-4.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

• 3:41 p.m. A caller on Washington Street reported a car window was broken sometime overnight, but nothing was taken.
• 5:25 p.m. A 20-year-old Peabody male who lives on Nichols Lane was transported to Lahey Clinic after a report of an overdose at a Ledgewood Way apartment. Police said the male was in cardiac arrest at the scene and was later issued a court summons for possession of a Class A drug. Class A substances include heroin, morphine, codeine and ketamine.
• 5:30 p.m. Two drivers were transported to Salem Hospital after a two-car accident at the corner of Margin Street and Englewood Road.
• 6:34 p.m. A caller reported an intoxicated male was passed out inside Sunshine Laundry on Foster Street. The male was taken to Salem Hospital by ambulance.
• 9:26 p.m. Police received a report of a male at the CVS on Main Street with nail polish in his eyes. He was evaluated by EMTs and declined further medical treatment.

Wednesday, Jan. 2

• 10:21 a.m. A caller on Crestwood Lane reported she was concerned for a turkey in her neighborhood. She said the bird was limping along. The Animal Control Officer advised her to leave it alone and suggested she call MassWildlife for futher guidance.
• 11:21 a.m. A pharmacist at the CVS on Lynnfield Street reported a male customer attempted to purchase hypodermic needles without an ID. The male reportedly grabbed the needles and left without paying. The suspect was described as a white male in a white hooded sweatshirt. Staff did not know if he left on foot or in a car. Police checked the area and could not locate the man. An officer said there wasn't actually a theft. The male did pay for the needles, but never showed his ID to the clerk. He left the area in a car.
• 12:18 p.m. A caller on Reed Road reported his iPod was stolen from his residence on Jan. 1 while he was out at a party.
• 1:18 p.m. A 25-year-old Beverly woman was issued a court summons for leaving the scene of a car accident with property damage, following a report of a hit-and-run at the corner of Berry and Endicott streets.
• 2:18 p.m. Police checked the area of Lynn Street and Columbia Boulevard for a female reportedly going door-to-door, claiming to be from a mortgage company. She was also reported to be taking pictures of homes. Officers checked the surrounding streets, but were unable to locate the female.
• 3:18 p.m. A caller reported his credit card number was stolen and then used to purchase items in Texas.
• 3:37 p.m. A male fell on some ice on Tumelty Road and was transported to Salem Hospital with a head injury.
• 4:04 p.m. Police responded to a report of a break-in at a Bowditch Street apartment, which turned out to just be the daughter of the person who lived there. She got locked out and had to make a forced entry back inside.
• 4:09 p.m. An Anderson Street resident reported a theft of some checks. Police said a 56-year-old man was accused by the woman of stealing checks in the amount of $3,925. The incident was still under investigation.
• 5:39 p.m. A resident at the Maple Village condo complex on Aborn Street reported her wristlet was stolen from her apartment on New Year's Eve. It contained a $500 diamond tennis bracelet and was itself worth $100.
• 5:40 p.m. A female was transported to Salem Hospital for medical evaluation after a two-car accident on Margin Street.
• 6:23 p.m. A female caller reported a suspicious motor vehicle at Proctor Circle. She said the car was trying to back up over a snowbank and then left the area.
• 10:14 p.m. A caller reported some possibly intoxicated people outside Shaw's Supermarket were asking for a ride. An 18-year-old male was transported across the parking lot to Lahey Clinic.

Thursday, Jan. 3

• 5:30 a.m. A caller on Jeffrey Street reported someone was knocking on her door and screaming.
• 6:58 a.m. One person was transported to Lynn Union Hospital after a two-car accident on Lynnfield Street.
• 11:43 a.m. A caller on Tracey Street reported her fence was vandalized. Police said it appeared someone backed into the fence.
• 1:19 p.m. A caller on Shore Drive reported the spare tire from her Toyota RAV4 was stolen.
• 3:05 p.m. A female caller reported someone fraudulently withdrew money from her account.
• 3:32 p.m. Police received a report of an intoxicated male inside A&P Variety on Aborn Street. An officer gave the man a ride home to Charlotte Street.
• 4:47 p.m. A homeowner on Pine Street reported a person who drove a car into a bush was giving the homeowner a hard time. An officer assisted in working out a resolution.
• 6:09 p.m. A caller on Shore Drive reported his spare tire was stolen. He said it was worth $150.
• 7:32 p.m. A caller at Latitude Sports Clubs reported her $400 handbag was stolen from her car. Police said the front passenger side window was broken.
• 8:06 p.m. A caller on Harrison Avenue reported an attempted burglary at his home that occurred sometime during the week. He showed an officer pry marks on a slider and rear window screens on the first floor.
• 8:10 p.m. A caller at Latitude Sports Clubs reported a car break-in. A passenger side window was smashed, but nothing was taken.
• 8:55 p.m. Police responded to 197 Washington St. #3 on a report of gunshots. One male victim was transported to Mass. General Hospital with a wound to his leg. See related story.

Friday, Jan. 4

• 8:47 a.m. A female crossing guard fell on Tremont Street and hit her head. She was transported to Salem Hospital by ambulance.
• 9:22 a.m. A mailman turned in a license plate at the police station that he found in a mailbox. Police said there was no phone number listed for the registered owner and the plate was left at the front window of the lobby in case the owner stopped by the station.
• 10:53 a.m. A caller on Swampscott Avenue reported one of her car tires was slashed overnight.
• 1:52 p.m. A caller on Lynn Street reported her fence was vandalized. She said there were $750 in damages.
