Police Seize 18 Pounds of Marijuana, Arrest Suspect

A Whitman man was arrested in a Newbury Street mobile home.

Peabody Police and several law enforcement agencies seized 18 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $72,000 on Wednesday and arrested a Whitman man.

Police arrested Beau Powers, 26, 27 Ellis Ave., Whitman, and charged him with possessing a Class D substance with the intent to distribute.

During a joint narcotics operation with several law enforcement agencies, police arrested Powers at Mobile Estates, 286 Newbury St., #93, in Peabody.

Police said the seizure was the result of an investigation that was initiated by the Peabody Police Criminal Investigations Division. The investigation led to a search warrant at the Newbury Street address and the ultimate arrest of Powers.
