Police Log: Teen Arrested After Breaking Into Higgins Middle School

Wednesday, July 23

At 1:47 p.m., police responded to a car accident on Route 1. One person was taken to the hospital and two vehicles were towed. State Police handled the matter.

At 1:51 p.m., police responded to another car accident on Route 1. One person was taken to a hospital. Two cars were towed.

At 1:57 p.m., a Forest Street woman reported an injured woodchuck in her yard. She said her dog grabbed the animal. Animal control brought the animal to Borash Veterinary Clinic.

At 2:08 p.m., police arrested David P. Nguyen, 22, 286 Newbury St., Apt. 116, Peabody, and charged him with domestic assault and battery. Police also summonsed a 20-year-old Gloucester woman to court and charged her with domestic assault and battery.

At 3:32 p.m., police arrested a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old and charged them on two counts of receiving stolen property more than $250, one count of receiving stolen property less than $250 and one count of shoplifting by concealing merchandise. Police made the arrests after a report of two juvenile shoplifters at Sears.

At 4:47 p.m., a Clement Avenue resident reported a car break-in. Police took a report.

At 6:43 p.m., police summonsed a 29-year-old Peabody man to court and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a marked lanes violation. Police summonsed the man during a traffic stop on Main Street.

At 7:38 p.m., a Sears employee reported two shoplifters. The store handled the matter.

At 8:36 p.m., police summonsed a 34-year-old Peabody man to court and charged him with violating an abuse prevention order and assault with a dangerous weapon.

At 10:07 p.m., police arrested a 15-year-old and charged the teen with breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony and possessing burglarious instruments. Police made the arrest after a burglar alarm was activated at Higgins Middle School. The teen tried to flee, but police arrested the suspect.

Thursday, July 24

At 1:24 a.m., police arrested Edwin Martinez, 33, 282 Lexington St., Apt. 2, East Boston, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, refusing to identify himself and a warrant for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor.

At 9:11 a.m., police summonsed a 61-year-old Salem man to court and charged him with leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Police summonsed the man after a report of someone driving up a curb and hitting a sign in front of Stop & Shop.
