Police Log: Resident Reports IRS Scam
Friday, May 16
At 3:14 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Andover Street at Route 128 North. There were no injuries. One vehicle was towed.
At 4:54 p.m., police arrested Russell Glenn Roesener, 55, 120 Lower Collins St., Seabrook, NH, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense). Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Lowell Street.
At 5:23 p.m., a Northshore Road resident reported receiving a call from someone claiming he was from “Tax Crime Investigation of the IRS.” He told her she needed to send $2,700 in cash by a Green Dot Moneypak or she would be arrested. She contacted Green Dot and was told it was a scam. Police called the number of the person who called her. An officer asked the man for his business’ address and he spelled out “115 (Expletive) Me” and hung up.

At 9:01 p.m., police responded to Newbury Street after a car break-in. Credit cards and a GPS were taken.

Saturday, May 17
At 3:41 a.m., police arrested Lena L. Papuchis, 46, 12 Daniel Terrace, Peabody, and charged her with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor and speeding. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Summit Street.
At 8:24 a.m., a Newbury Street resident reported a past break-in. Someone entered the residence through a window. A pocketbook was taken. Police are investigating.
At 10:50 a.m., police responded to Main Street after a pedestrian accident. The person struck, a 25-year-old man, was not injured.
At 4:34 p.m., police arrested Santo Reneo, 35, 125 Umpire St., Apt. 3, Lynn, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle without a license. Police made the arrest after responding to Crowinshield and Sawyer streets about a motor vehicle accident. A 25-year-old Lynn was also summonsed to court for operating a motor vehicle without a license. There were no reported injuries.
At 5:36 p.m., police arrested Kevin A. Desruisseaux, 32, 304 Ferry St., Apt. 2, Everett, and charged him with disorderly conduct. Police made the arrest at the Sprint kiosk at the Northshore Mall.
At 10:27 p.m., police arrested Jamie Candelaria, 32, 39 Railroad Ave., Apt. 2, Beverly, and charged the person with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, possessing a Class A drug, having no inspection sticker and failing to signal. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Main Street.
Sunday, May 18
At 1:29 p.m., police arrested Rodolfo Antonio Martinez, 35, 22 Paleologos St., Peabody, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle without a license. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Lowell Street.
