Police Log: Police Arrest Four, Summons Six Others Over the Weekend

Friday, July 4

At 2:47 p.m., police arrested Alex Chabez, 27, 14 Essex St., Apt. 1, Danvers, and Efrain Perez, 27, 14 Essex St., Apt. 1, Danvers, and charged them with shoplifting by asportation. Police made the arrests after a report of two shoplifters at Sears.

At 4:19 p.m., police summonsed a 24-year-old Peabody man to court and charged him with leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Police summonsed the man after a report of a driver hitting an Exit sign on Edgehill Road.

At 4:24 p.m., police summonsed a 46-year-old Peabody woman to court and charged her with domestic assault and battery.

At 5:29 p.m., a person reported that a man was sitting in a vehicle drinking a beer outside Homewood Suites Hotel. Police spoke to the man and asked him to go to his hotel room.

At 5:43 p.m., Spencer Gifts caught two juvenile shoplifters who tried to steal $10 worth of items. They were spoken to and sent on their way.

At 6:50 p.m., police received a call from Endicott Street after a fallen tree limb caused a broken headlight and small dent on a vehicle.

At 7:02 p.m., a Newbury Street resident reported a stolen vehicle. The person identified a possible suspect.

At 7:10 p.m., police summonsed a 50-year-old Peabody woman to court and charged her with shoplifting more than $100 by asportation. Police summonsed the woman after a report of a shoplifter leaving the store with a full shopping cart.

At 7:28 p.m., police summonsed a 23-year-old Peabody man to court and charged him with violating an abuse prevention order.

At 8:59 p.m., police summonsed a 41-year-old Peabody woman to court and charged her with threatening to commit a crime and assault to intimidate.

At 10:06 p.m., police summonsed a 56-year-old Essex man to court and charged him with violating an abuse prevention order.

 

Saturday, July 5

At 5:28 a.m., a North Central Street resident reported a tree fell on the front of his vehicle.

At 6:58 a.m., police arrested Pablo E. Soto, 59, 9A Munroe Court, Peabody, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop at Lynnfield Street and Robin Road.

At 12:33 p.m., a Sears employee reported a shoplifting. The store handled the matter.

At 1:21 p.m., police arrested Christopher Todisco, 20, 7 Goldberg Road, Peabody, and charged him with domestic assault and battery and resisting arrest.

At 3:29 p.m., a J.C. Penney employee reported two shoplifters. The store handled the matter.

At 5:22 p.m., an Aborn Street resident reported an attempted break-in overnight. Police took a report.

At 6:50 p.m., police responded to the Northshore Mall after shoplifters stole a CD and an American flag from Newbury Comics.

At 9:53 p.m., Peabody Fire extinguished a trailer roof fire on Newbury Street that was caused by fireworks.

 

Sunday, July 6

At 2:29 a.m., a Lynn Street resident reported a loud party. Police spoke to the people at the party, who said that the bongo playing would stop.

At 9:13 a.m., an Aberdeen Avenue resident reported finding a plastic Easter egg with antifreeze inside. This was an issue in June. It’s unclear whether the egg was from that time or if it was recently placed there.
