Police Log: Peabody Man Charged with OUI After Striking Pole

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Feb. 22

At 3:24 p.m., police arrested Amy E. Burnett, 29, 67 Goodale St., Peabody, and charged her with possessing a Class A drug. Police made the arrest on Foster Street.

At 6:53 p.m., police notified the Department of Public Services about a pothole on Lowell Street.

At 10:39 p.m., Lahey Hospital & Medical Center security notified police of possible drug activity in a vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle left before police arrived.

Sunday, Feb. 23

At 2:58 a.m., police arrested Justin G. Burt, 26, 67 Pulaski St., Peabody, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and a marked lanes violation. Police responded to Andover and Cross streets after a motorist struck a light pole. The driver reported left the area, but police arrested Burt on Pulaski Street.

At 12:26 p.m., Sears reported a shoplifter, but said they would handle the matter internally.

At 12:35 p.m., a Summit Street resident reported a man cutting wires on a telephone pole. Police searched the area, but was unable to find the suspect, who is described as a white male in his 20s with dark hair, who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a black backpack. The suspect was last seen leaving the area on a bicycle toward Anthony Road. Police notified Peabody Electric Light about the damage.

At 12:51 p.m., police received a call about a pothole at Aborn and Sutton streets. Police notified the Department of Public Services.
