Police Log: Peabody Man Charged With Drunk Driving After Striking Pole

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, March 17

At 2:48 p.m., police arrested Shawn Myers, 31, 154 Winona St., Peabody, and charged him on a warrant for operating a motor vehicle without a license. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Donegal Road.

At 4:11 p.m., police and fire responded to Wallis Street about a small brush fire. A couple of hay bales caught fire, but firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.

At 4:53 p.m., a Shore Drive resident reported credit card fraud.

At 5:19 p.m., a Lynn Street resident reported finding a hypodermic needle on a front lawn. Police disposed of the needle.

At 8:34 p.m., police arrested Damien S. Willette, 19, 13 Gallant Road, Peabody, and charged him on a warrant for two counts of domestic assault and battery and making threats. Police made the arrest on Lynnfield Street.

At 10:13 p.m., police arrested Melvin Perez, 21, 101 Eutaw St., Apt. 2, Lynn, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle without a license and speeding. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop at Lake Street and Scribner Road.

 

Tuesday, March 18

At 9:42 a.m., a Lowell Street resident reported credit card fraud. There were $545 worth of unauthorized charges on a credit card.

At 10:30 a.m., police arrested Michael D. Seward, 48, 266 Newbury St., Apt. 43, Peabody, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor and a warrant for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle without an inspection sticker. Police made the arrest after Seward’s car reportedly struck a pole on Tremont Street. The vehicle was towed.

At 10:56 a.m., a Rockdale Avenue resident reported that his cat is missing. The cat, named Louie, was last seen the previous night in the Rockdale Avenue area. He is an orange cat and was not wearing a collar, but is microchipped.

At 1:16 p.m., a person reported losing a wedding ring at the Northshore Mall. Police took a report.
