Police Log: Peabody Man Charged With Assault, Intimidation and Stealing $100

Tuesday, July 15

At 2:48 p.m., police responded to Baldwin Street after a car struck a pole. The driver may have blacked out. Police took the driver to Salem Hospital and notified Peabody Municipal Light about the pole.

At 4:36p.m., a J.C. Penney employee reported a shoplifting. The store handled the matter.

At 5:33 pm., police arrested Julie C. Cruz, 47, 4 Walcott St., Peabody, and charged him on a warrant for assault and threatening to commit a crime.

At 6:55 p.m., a J.C. Penney employee reported a juvenile shoplifter. The store handled the matter.

Wednesday, July 16

At 2:29 a.m., police arrested Chad Jablonski, 20, 14 Pine St., Peabody, and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon, larceny less than $250 and intimidating a witness. Danvers Police reported that a victim of a domestic incident was at Beverly Hospital. The incident originally occurred in Peabody. Jablonski reportedly assaulted the victim, threw her to the floor and kicked her. She also threatened her and stole $100, according to police.

At 7:44 a.m., police summonsed a 25-year-old Lynn man to court and charged him with operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and operating a scooter with a passenger. Police summonsed the man after pulling over a scooter on Lowell Street.

At 8:11 a.m., police responded to Newbury Street after someone broke a car window with a hammer.

At 9:25 a.m., police received a call from Russell Street after a truck dumped a large amount of asphalt on the roadway. The road was impassable with 150 feet of the road affected. Police notified the DPW.

At 11:32 a.m., a Holten Street resident reported a break-in. A rear side window and a window on a door were smashed. Nothing was reportedly taken. Police took a report.
