Police Log: Officers Make Five Arrests

Wednesday, July 16

At 2:29 p.m., police summonsed a 28-year-old Everett woman to court and charged her with operating a motor vehicle without a license and an unsafe lane change. Police summonsed the woman after a traffic stop on Route 128.

At 2:32 p.m., police arrested Brett Carrick, 30, 21 Rockdale Ave., Peabody, and charged him on a warrant for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor, a marked lanes violation and speeding. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Lynn Street.

At 3:20 p.m., police were called for the first of many flooding calls over the afternoon because of the heavy rain. Locations with flooding included Lynnfield Street, Foster Street, Margin Street and Union Street.

At 4:29 p.m., police summonsed a 36-year-old Peabody woman to court and charged her with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Police received a call from Washington Street after a resident called to report that a vehicle struck his residence and a door and window might have been damaged. Police summonsed the driver.

At 6:31 p.m., police arrested Anthony Smith, 19, 4 Dimitrios Circle, Peabody, and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a paint gun). Police made the arrest at Macarthur Park.

At 7:12 p.m., police arrested Thomas A. Riley, 25, 1210 Crane Brook Way, Peabody, and charged him with domestic assault and battery.

At 9:24 p.m., police arrested John E. Akeley, 26, 50 Roslyn St., Apt. 1, Salem, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense), possessing a Class B drug, distributing a Class B drug and three warrants for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor, two counts of destruction of property and failing to provide DNA. Police also arrested Joseph Johnson, 19, 42 Ellsworth Road, Peabody, and charged him with possessing a Class B drug. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Driscoll Street.

 

Thursday, July 17

At 1:28 a.m., police summonsed a 17-year-old to court and charged her with a marked lanes violation and being a junior operator operating between midnight and 5 a.m. without a parent. Police summonsed the teen after her car suffered a flat tire on Lowell Street at Route 128.

At 1:46 am., police arrested Juan Ariel Espinal, 23, 120 Central Ave., Lynn, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Main Street.

At 8:25 a.m., a Lynn Street resident reported his Coast Guard dress sword is missing from his residence.

At 12:08 p.m., police assisted the ATF on Blair Terrace on executing an outstanding federal arrest warrant of a 25-year-old Lowell man.

At 1:02 p.m., police received a call about a suspicious person hiding behind a car at Shaw’s Supermarket. Police spoke to the person who was hiding. He said he was playing a trick on his girlfriend. Police told him to leave.
