At 2:57 p.m., a person using the mypd app notified police about a man hiding his face in the back seat of a car on Central Street. An officer spoke to the man who said he was working out.
At 3:14 p.m., police arrested Jamie Kennedy, 37, 74 Wallis St., Apt. 1, Peabody, and charged the person with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon of a person more than 60 years old.
At 4:38 p.m., a Wildwood Drive resident reported jewelry, $50 in cash and a checkpoint were stolen. The jewelry was described as two pairs of gold earrings, a diamond cross and a diamond bracelet. Six checks were written for a total of $6,100. Police took a report.

At 5:07 p.m., a Newbury Comics employee reported a shoplifting. The store handled the matter.
At 5:18 p.m., a J.C. Penney employee reported two shoplifters. Police summonsed them to court for shoplifting more than $250.

At 9 p.m., police arrested Jannelle Dumas, 20, 17 Charles St., Apt. 1, Danvers, and Whitney L. Taylor, 20, 27 Princeton St., Danvers, and charged them with larceny more than $250. Police made the arrest after responding to Macy’s about two women trying to steal more than $1,300 worth of merchandise.

At 1:21 a.m., police arrested James M. Burdett, 43, 50 Annunciation Road, Apt. 5013N, Roxbury, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense) and a marked lanes violation. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Newbury Street.
At 10:53 a.m., police arrested Ashley N. Espinola, 21, 7 Shamrock St., Peabody, and charged the person with disorderly conduct and summonsed a 24-year-old Everett man to court and charged him with assault and battery. Police made the arrest after responding to a call of a fight involving six people at Shamrock and Tremont streets. One person was taken to Lahey Clinic. A little more than an hour later, a second person involved in the fight was taken to Salem Hospital after a report of a man “bleeding and sleeping” at a Tremont Street business.
At 1:06 p.m., a person reported that her brother’s car was stolen from the Northshore Mall. Mall security found the vehicle in the parking lot. It was not stolen; the driver forgot where he parked.
At 1:34 p.m., police arrested Fernando Manuel Silveira, 52, homeless, and charged him on a warrant for disorderly conduct. Police made the arrest after a report of a main yelling inside the Peabody Institute Library.
