Police Log: Car Accident Involving Police Cruiser Sends Three to Hospital

Thursday, July 24

At 5:01 p.m., police summonsed a 23-year-old Boston woman to court and charged her with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and a motor vehicle lights violation. Police summonsed the woman during a traffic stop on Pine Street.

At 5:51 p.m., police arrested Noel N. Gabriel, 27, 92 Marianna St., Apt. 3, Lynn, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle without a license, operating a motor vehicle without an inspection sticker and a motor vehicle lights violation.

At 6:37 p.m., a Southwick Road resident reported someone stole a regulation NHL hockey net that is valued at $600.

At 9:51 p.m., police arrested Michael K. Love, 37, 10 Roycroft Road, Peabody, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, possessing a Class A drug with the intent to distribute, refusing to identify himself and a marked lanes violation. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Laurine Road.


Friday, July 25

At 8:47 a.m., police responded to Margin Street about a two-car accident that involved a police cruiser. Officer Manny Costa was stopped on Margin Street near Bishop Fenwick and was allowing a pedestrian to cross when his vehicle was struck from behind. Officer Costa was transported to Salem Hospital with a possible back injury. Two other people were taken to Salem Hospital. Both vehicles were towed. Police are investigating the crash.

At 10:56 a.m., police responded to Lowell Street and Castle Circle after a pedestrian was struck. A 61-year-old woman was taken to Salem Hospital.
