Police Log: Burglary on Main Street Reported

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Feb. 27

At 5:54 p.m., police arrested Margie A. Martinez, 24, 62 Marlboro St., Apt. 2, Chelsea, and charged her with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Poice made the arrest during traffic stop on Lake Street.

At 8:05 p.m., a Washington Street resident reported someone opened a DirectTV account in his name. The account was opened with a Dorchester address and the bill was $867.88. Police took a report.

At 8:17 p.m., police summonsed a 52-year-old Peabody resident to court and charged him with failing to stop/yield and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Police summonsed the man during a traffic stop on Livingston Drive.

At 8:57 p.m., an America Drive resident reported a man was yelling obscenities on his porch. Police spoke to the man and asked him to go inside for the night.

Friday, Feb. 28

At 7:39 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident at Endicott and Lowell streets. One driver was taken to Salem Hospital. One car was towed from the scene.

At 9:12 a.m., police received a call about a three-car accident at Gardner Street and Pulaski Street. Police summonsed a 31-year-old Salem woman to court for operating a motor vehicle without a license. One vehicle was towed from the scene. There were no reported injuries.

At 9:34 a.m., a Main Street resident reported a past burglary. Someone entered the residence two nights before and stole multiple items, she said. Police took a report.

At 9:51 a.m., police responded to Newbury Street after someone broke into a vehicle. There was nothing missing, but the car was damaged. While at the scene, another person said her car was also entered the previous day at that location and her purse was taken.

At 11 a.m., police and fire responded to the Covenant Christian Academy about a fire in the kitchen. Firefighters extinguished the grease fire. There was no reported damage.
