Police Log: Brookline Man Charged With Tagging Building

Tuesday, March 18

At 2:25 p.m., police summonsed two shoplifters, including a juvenile, to court after they reportedly attempted to shoplift at J.C. Penney.

At 3:06 p.m., police responded to a car accident at Latitude Sports Club. One driver struck a parked car. There were no reported injuries. One car was towed.

At 3:09 p.m., a Washington Street resident reported his dog was stolen from his backyard. The dog is a blue nose pit bull and the suspect’s vehicle may have been a green pickup truck with ladders. The dog was found running loose on Foster Street at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The dog was reunited with its human.

At 5:21 p.m., a Winona Street resident reported a driver drove on her lawn and damaged the grass.

At 6:19 p.m., police notified the Department of Public Services about a manhole cover in the road on Pulaski Street.

At 7:09 p.m., police arrested Velarmino J. Tomas, 27, 60 Essex St., Apt. 1, Lynn, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle without a license and a warrant for operating a motor vehicle without a license and speeding. Police also summonsed a 25-year-old Lynn man to court for allowing an unlicensed person to operate a motor vehicle, not having an inspection sticker and a number plate violation. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Newbury Street.

At 10:41 p.m., police summonsed a 18-year-old Peabody resident to court and charged him with three counts of domestic assault and battery.

 

Wednesday, March 19

At 12:02 a.m., police responded to Rainbow Road concerning a two-car accident. One of the drivers left the scene. Police identified the driver and another person and summonsed them to court. The driver, a 47-year-old Peabody man, was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident. The other person, a 46-year-old Peabody woman, was charged with being an accessory after the fact.

At 12:08 a.m., police summonsed a 34-year-old Brookline resident to court and charged him with tagging and defacing property. The man reportedly tagged a building on Andover Street.

At 6:56 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Lowell Street at Route 128 South. There were no reported injuries. Both cars were towed.

At 11:02 a.m., a Peabody resident reported his wallet was stolen and credit cards have been used without his authorization. Police are investigating.

At 12:27 p.m., a Smoke Rise Circle resident called police about a dead deer in a wooded area behind her property line. Police told her that it’s up to the property owner to remove a dead animal.

At 12:56 p.m., a Sears employee reported a shoplifter. The store said it would handle the matter.
