Police Capture Man Fleeing Salem Robbery

Man arrested after striking Salem police cruiser and then bailing from his pickup truck and leading police on a foot chase.

Peabody police arrested a man Saturday after he robbed a Salem business, struck a Salem police cruiser with his vehicle and then led police on a foot chase, according to scanner reports.

The cruiser, struck at approximately 3:16 p.m., was disabled and needed to be towed, according to reports.

The address of the robbery was listed at 450 Highland Ave. — the address of the close to the Lynn border.

Lynn, Salem, Peabody and forces assisted with the chase. Reports indicate the suspect initially fled in a pickup truck, then bailed it and fled on foot in the Gallows Hill area.

The suspect was wearing an orange shirt.

The cash from the robbery was strewn all over the floor of the truck that was the getaway vehicle, according to scanner reports.

A male suspect was reportedly caught by Peabody officers at 3:27 p.m.
