Pedestrian Struck, Injured on Andover Street

A Middleton woman was rushed to the hospital with head injuries after being struck on Andover Street.

A Middleton woman was rushed to MassGeneral Hospital with head injuries Friday night after being struck by a motor vehicle on Andover Street.

At 6:39 p.m., Peabody police responded to the intersection of Andover Street and Andover Drive after receiving word that a woman had been struck by a Mitsubishi Lancer.

The driver, Nicholas Hernandez, 22, of 4B Andover Drive, Peabody, reportedly struck a 24-year-old woman as she was crossing the street.

The woman, who police declined to identify Friday night, was taken by ambulance to MassGeneral Hospital in Boston to be treated for head injuries sustained in the accident.

A state police accident reconstruction team was reportedly called to the scene to investigate the incident and it is unclear whether Hernandez will be cited.
