Road Rage: Would You Like Fries With That Cheeseburger?

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following excerpts are from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Nov. 11-12.

Monday, Nov. 11

  • 12:19 a.m. A caller at the Roadhouse Pub reported all four tires on multiple limousines were slashed.
  • 6:01 a.m. A caller at Four Star Towing reported an employee's ex-girlfriend kept calling the office every other minute. An officer spoke to the female and she promised to stop calling.
  • 12:20 p.m. Salem police requested assistance with locating a patient who left Salem Hospital. The patient was found at the CVS on Main Street and taken back to the hospital.
  • 3:32 p.m. Bryon Hardin, 18, of 20 Calumet St. #2, Peabody, was arrested, following a report of a group of teens bullying another child at Pierpont Park. Hardin was charged on a warrant from another department.
  • 3:35 p.m. A female caller reported another vehicle struck her car in the parking lot outside Bonkers Funhouse and then fled the scene.
  • 4:09 p.m. A 23-year-old Peabody woman and a 20-year-old Lynn male were both issued court summonses on charges of domestic assault and battery, following an incident at the woman's home at Macarthur Circle.
  • 5:34 p.m. Salyblue T. Reach, 30, of Saugus, was arrested, following a car accident on Central Street in which a vehicle struck a parked car. Both vehicles were towed away. Reach was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (second offense) and possession of an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
  • 5:39 p.m. Two shoplifters were detained at Sears. A 49-year-old Danvers woman and a 16-year-old female were both issued court summonses on charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
  • 6:42 p.m. A caller reported two males were engaged in a fistfight on Bartholomew Street. They reportedly were threatening to kill each other and there may have been weapons involved. Police checked the area, but the combatants were gone.

Tuesday, Nov. 12

  • 9:28 a.m. A caller on Amanda Way reported two cars were entered and $80 in cash and hair clippers were taken from one vehicle while $20 in cash and a phone charger was taken from the other car.
  • 9:42 a.m. A caller on Bartholomew Street reported his car was broken into. Change and a wallet containing a Social Security card was taken.
  • 11:04 a.m. A Bartholomew Street resident reported a past car break-in. Five oxycodone pills were taken.
  • 11:33 a.m. A Ledgewood Way resident reported someone hacked into his computer.
  • 12:47 p.m. Report of a car that crashed into the side of building at 8 Essex Center Dr. See related story.
  • 1:20 p.m. A caller reported a road rage incident on Crowninshield Street. A cheeseburger was thrown back-and-forth between the two drivers.
  • 2:51 p.m. William Higgins, 41, of 12 Magnolia Way #1215, Peabody, was arrested at his apartment on a warrant out of Salem District Court.
  • 4:16 p.m. A caller on Bowditch Street reported a babysitter locked the father out of his own house was throwing oranges at him. An officer responded to the scene and said no oranges were thrown. All was in order.
  • 7:42 p.m. A caller reported he noticed his credit card was missing after making a purchase with it the day before. He then learned from his credit card company that several other "significant" purchases were made in various locations.
  • 8:33 p.m. A caller at the corner of Pine and Broad streets reported there were large flames coming from outside his house. An officer said all was in order -- someone was burning construction equipment.
  • 10:15 p.m. A caller reported there was a possible broken water pipe in a first-floor apartment or the basement at 106 Central St. The caller was knocking on the apartment door to no answer. Danvers police were asked to notify the landlady -- a Danvers resident -- to respond to the scene. Police said both the heat and water were shut off at the residence.
  • 11:10 p.m. A caller at the Tanner Gardens apartments on Foster Street reported there was an unknown disturbance and people were screaming. Police said there was an argument over the laundry.
  • 11:35 p.m. Egidio Perez, 33, of Lynn, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Putnam Street. He was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
