A Peabody mother and her adult son pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to charges that they stole baby formula from an East Boston CVS.

The Boston Globe reported that Jill Dibartolomeo, 52, of Peabody, pleaded not guilty in East Boston Municipal Court to larceny more than $250 and Shawn Dibartolomeo, 25, of Peabody, pleaded not guilty to shoplifting more than $200 and possession of Class B drugs. They were released on their own recognizance and were told to stay away from the CVS.

Boston Police responded to a larceny call at the CVS on Monday afternoon. Employees gave descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle and police pulled over the car a short time later. Police said Shawn Dibartolomeo “was trying to conceal cans of baby formula by putting them in a computer bag,” reported The Boston Globe.
