Peabody Man Arrested After Holding Up A Plus Market

The robbery occurred Thursday afternoon.

A Peabody man is behind bars

Jeffrey Donahue, 42, 21 Jefferson Road, Peabody, was arrested and charged with armed robbery.

Shortly after 3 p.m., the cashier at the market activated the hold-up alarm. The suspect was described to police as being a male in his 30's wearing a tan jacket, grey T-shirt with a white stripe across it and light colored cargo shorts. The cashier also told police he was wearing a black mask and was armed with a machete.

Police searched the area and located the suspect climbing fences near the old Farnsworth School on Central Street, police said.
