Peabody Kids Get Up Close Experience of Police Work Today

Check out these photos from this year's CSI Peabody program.

Scores of Peabody youngsters got a first-hand taste of police work last week at the annual CSI Peabody summer camp program put on by the city's police and recreation departments. Outside agencies, including the state police, also participate in certain segments of the program.

During the course of a week in August, students work simulated crime scenes, learn how to gather evidence, the basics of conducting an investigation, fingerprinting, check out the wide variety of equipment and tools used on the job, try on some of the gear and more.

The recreation department also teams up with the fire department each year to offer a similar summer program.

For more information on those programs, contact Ann Gray at the Peabody Recreation Department: 978-536-7131 or ann.gray@peabody-ma.gov.

[Editor's Note: Thanks goes to media relations specialist Bienvenido De La Cruz for the photos. You can find even more photos from last week on the Peabody Police Department's Facebook page.]
