Peabody Fire Welcomes Six New Recruits

Peabody Fire Department welcomed new recruits on Sunday after they graduated from a six-week in-house training program. 

From left to right in the photo are: 

  • Captain Ted Quinn -- Training Officer
  • Jr. Firefighter Sean Dolan -- Assigned to Division 1, Engine 7
  • Jr. Firefighter Matthew McKinnon -- Assigned to Division 3, Engine 7
  • Jr. Firefighter John Marotta -- Assigned to Division 3, Engine 7
  • Jr. Firefighter Justin Sauvageau -- Assigned to Division 4, Engine 7
  • Jr. Firefighter Mark Eliuk -- Assigned to Division 2, Engine 7 (second generation Peabody firefighter)
  • Jr. Firefighter Luke Murdoch -- Assigned to Division 4, Engine 7
  • Lieutenant Timothy O'Keefe -- Training Officer

They will attend the Massachusetts Firefighter Academy in Stow in the fall.

In addition to their firefighting training, the new recruits were also
given extensive training on the PFD's dispatch system by Firefighter
Russell Lewis.

Chief Steven Pasdon welcomed and congratulated the new recruits with a luncheon at HQ on Friday followed by ice cream sundaes provided by City Councilor Tom Gould.
