Peabody Crews at Scene of Working Fire on Forest Street
The location is a trash transfer station off Route 1.
A large fire was reported this morning inside a trash transfer station on Forest Street.
The call first came in around 8:15 a.m. and multiple engines were dispatched to the scene. Heavy smoke was visible in the area.
The exact address is 300 Forest St. which is identified as Allied Waste and located behind 129 Newbury St.
Forest Street between Farm Avenue and Route 1 was closed off to traffic. Mutual Aid was called in from neighboring departments to cover the city's stations.
