Parking Available at Higgins, Carroll, Welch Overnight

Police say parking for residents without access to other off-street spots will be available at three city schools until Saturday morning.

There's an emergency parking ban in effect, which means on-street parking isn't allowed. The city is allowing parking at some schools, however, for residents who don't have access to off-street spots.

Parking will be available at the Higgins, Carroll and Welch schools for residents, effective now until Saturday morning.

Police say cars need to be moved by 8 a.m. on Saturday so lots can be cleared for school on Monday. And no, that's not a typo and yes, city officials realize it will still be snowing heavily at that point in all likelihood.

The mayor's office says a further announcement on when cars will need to be moved may be issued later this afternoon. The timing may change as needed.
