North Shore Bank at 248 Andover St., which is the bank's headquarters, was robbed this afternoon by two males.
Peabody Police Detective Michael Crane said witnesses told officers at the scene that a man walked into the bank, demanded money and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.
Interior surveillance photos released this afternoon by police show two male suspects, one man wearing sunglasses, a winter hat and hood in the act of demanding money from a teller.
Initial scanner reports indicated the suspect might have been armed, but Crane said, officers at the scene report no weapon was shown during the robbery.
Crane said officers were still at the bank gathering information this afternoon.
Police received a call just after 2:30 p.m., alerting them to a suspicious looking man inside the bank. Crane said officers then reported it was in fact a robbery.
The surveillance photos show a time stamp of just before 2:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made at this time. Police are actively searching for the suspects and ask for the public's assistance.
Scanner reports at the time did indicate officers were searching for a Toyota Camry.
Police ask that anyone with information on the robbery or the suspects contact Peabody detectives at 978-538-6364. Anonymous tips can be relayed via MyPD or Citizen Observer, both of which are accessible from the department's website at www.peabodypolice.org.
