Motorcyclist Transported to Salem Hospital After Crash

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from July 1-2.

Monday, July 1

  • 3:18 p.m. State Police reported a rollover accident on Route 128 at Andover Street. The State Police handled the accident. 
  • 4:09 p.m. flooding was reported at 17 Margin St. 
  • 5:54 p.m. a caller reported a two-car accident at Radio Shack on Andover Street. One individual reported possible back injury. 
  • 6:13 p.m. police arrested Albert J. Intonti, 54, of 7 Wheeler St., on Emily Lane. Intonti was charged with violation of an abuse prevention order and domestic assault. 
  • 6:41 p.m. a caller reported that he was assaulted by a female on Winona Street. Police arrested Anamaria B. Batista, 41, 90 Winona St., on Winona Street. Batista was charged with domestic assault and battery. 
  • 7:47 p.m. a caller reported a tractor trailer that struck the side mirror of a parked car on Warren Street and then fled. 
  • 11:23 p.m. a caller reported kids lighting off fireworks on Joyce Road. 

Tuesday, July 2

  • 5:19 a.m. a caller reported a breaking and entering at the Whispering Meadows apartment building on Newbury Street. Two tv's and a laptop were stolen from the apartment.
  • 6:04 a.m. the larceny of a moped was reported on Crownshield Street. The moped was described as a 2009 red Yamaha. 
  • 8:25 a.m. a caller reports a larceny from a motor vehicle on Warren Street. 
  • 8:36 p.m. a caller reported an accident involving a motorcycle on Lowell Street near Prospect Street. An officer later reported it was a single-vehicle crash and that the sole occupant and operator of the motorcycle sustained possible injuries. He was transported to Salem Hospital by Atlantic Ambulance.
