Man Wanted for Armed Robbery Turns Himself in to Police

A 23-year-old Peabody man wanted for Tuesday night's armed robbery is now in custody and is being held at Middleton Jail.

Peabody police say the man wanted for an armed robbery Tuesday night at Holden Oil turned himself in earlier this evening at the police station.

Sgt. Robert Waugh said John Doucette, 23, of 35-1/2 Lynn St., Peabody, was taken into custody on a warrant charge of armed and masked robbery and is being held overnight at Middleton Jail.

Doucette is expected to be arraigned at Peabody District Court tomorrow morning.

An employee at Holden Oil told police Doucette, who was wearing a black mask, showed a handgun during the robbery, but it's unclear if police have located that weapon.

Waugh said nothing was taken from Doucette during booking.
