Man Hospitalized After His Pickup Truck Rolls Over Him
The accident occurred Sunday evening while the man was apparently gathering metal from people's trash bins on the curb, according to police.
A man was transported to Salem Hospital Sunday night after he was run over by his own pickup truck.
Police, firefighters and EMTs responded to 51 Dexter St. around 7:30 p.m. Officers said a man had exited his truck when the vehicle rolled backward over him and struck a nearby trailer.
It was unclear from the initial scanner reports how serious the man's condition was, but it did appear to be several minutes at least before he was taken to the hospital.
According to scanner reports, an officer said it appeared the man was out scavenging metal from people's trash bins when the accident occurred.
