Peabody police arrested two motorists Sunday on alcohol- and drug-related charges.
The first was an early morning vehicle rollover on a ramp from Lowell Street heading onto Route 128 at approximately 1:43 a.m.
Ethan B. Knapik, 20, of Mendon, was then arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle and underage possession of alcohol.
Police said the green 2002 Toyota Highlander Knapik was driving rolled over on the ramp. A 22-year-old male passenger was also transported to Lahey Clinic.
And then later that evening, a 24-year-old Peabody woman was issued a court summons on charges of driving under the influence of drugs and possession of Class A, B and C drugs.
An officer reported he was checking on a female slumped at the wheel in the parking lot at the Northshore Mall at 6:24 p.m. The officer said the woman turned out to be conscious and alert, but was transported to Lahey Clinic by ambulance.
She was then given a court summons on the above mentioned charges.
