Man Charged for Indecent Exposure; Burglary at Home Under Repair From Fire

[Editor's Note: This article has been updated to reflect a correction. An incident reported in front of a business at 15 Spring Street Ct. on Dec. 1 had no connection to the business itself.]

The following excerpts are from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Dec. 1-2.

Sunday, Dec. 1

• 1:30 a.m. A 28-year-old Salem man was issued a court summons on charges of assault and indecent exposure, following a report of a man urinating outside the Tedeschi's on Main Street. A caller said the suspect left the scene in a car.
• 8:02 a.m. A caller at the Tannery Apartments on Crowninshield Street reported there was an unknown man sleeping in a second-floor hallway. An officer spoke to the man and he said he did live on that floor, but he had a late night and couldn't make it into his apartment.
• 12:26 p.m. A caller reported there was possibly a hunter on the grounds at Brooksby Farm. Police checked the area, but didn't find anyone.
• 2:03 p.m. A caller on Northend Street reported she was struck by an elderly woman while walking down the street. An officer spoke to both women and they were told to stay away from each other and their respective homes.
• 4:50 p.m. A caller reported a "hazardous driver" -- a red Jaguar didn't have its lights on and was drifting close to the curb at the corner of Perkins and Lowell streets.
• 8:45 p.m. While checking the downtown area, police observed an occupied vehicle parked in front of 15 Spring Street Ct. The business was closed at the time. A detective then reported confiscating a small amount of marijuana and marked it for destruction. There was no connection between the business and the incident.
• 11:18 p.m. Salem police reported there was a large fight on Irving Street near the city line with weapons possibly involved. Salem officers subsequently said they had the fight under control and didn't require assistance anymore from Peabody units.

Monday, Dec. 2

• 6:31 a.m. An officer reported there was a dead animal by the railroad tracks on Allens Lane.
• 7:58 a.m. A caller reported a water main break on Tumelty Road. DPS was notified.
• 9:58 a.m. A caller reported a past break-in at 84 Walnut St. The home was being worked on due to a fire last month that temporarily displaced five residents. An officer responded to the scene and someone broke in overnight and stole jewelry.
• 10:06 a.m. A caller at Lena's Pizza & Subs on Washington Street reported there were holes in the front door from BB gun pellets.
• 12:26 p.m. A caller on Sprague Street reported tires were slashed on a car.
• 3:04 p.m. A caller reported there was a suspicious person in a car at the bottom of the hill on Shore Drive around 2:30 p.m. The caller said the male driver motioned to a child on her way home from school to come over to the car. Instead, the girl ran home. The driver was described as a white male with red hair wearing a gray and red jacket and smoking a cigarette. His car was silver-colored with a back fin. Police checked the area, but didn't find the car.
• 3:39 p.m. A Holten Street resident reported he believed his cousin stole his Green card.
• 4:30 p.m. One operator was transported to Lynn Union Hospital after an accident involving a motorcycle on I-95 South near Route 128. State police handled the scene.
• 8:19 p.m. Zemenay D. Auditore, 35, of Rockport, was arrested at the Northshore Mall and charged with disorderly conduct. Auditore initially dialed 911 and asked for police officers to push her around the mall so she could shop. An officer spoke to her about the proper use of 911 and the "consequences of calling it again for frivolous issues." She then dialed 911 again and asked for an ambulance. An officer at the scene requested a supervisor respond as well as backup for an "out-of-control" female.
  
• 10:30 p.m. Ebrima Marong, 26, of 11 Lakeview Dr., Lynnfield, was arrested at the 7-Eleven on Route 1 and charged with possession to distribute a Class D drug (marijuana), resisting arrest and driving with a license revoked for being a habitual traffic offender.
