Man Charged with Kidnapping, Assaulting Girlfriend at P.F. Chang's

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Lynn man has been charged with kidnapping and domestic assault after an alleged incident at P.F. Chang's Wednesday.

Austin Lane, 25, of 181 Hamilton Ave. Apt. 2, Lynn, was charged with kidnapping, domestic assault and intimidating a witness.

According to reports, a woman called Peabody Police at 1:47 p.m. to report a disturbance between her friend and her friend's boyfriend at the restaurant. Police said the kidnapping charge is because Lane refused to let his girlfriend out of his car and drove off with her.

Police tracked down the car near Salem and arrested Lane.

Tuesday, Feb. 19

At 2:11 p.m., a man walked into the station and reported that he, his son and his girlfriend had received threats by Bank of America and wanted those threats logged.

At 2:39 p.m., a Coolidge Road resident reported that his dog, Terry, is missing. Terry is a white, male miniature Schnauzer, was not wearing a collar and is not microchipped.

At 3:24 p.m., a caller on Outlook Avenue reported his 3-year-old, neutered, black and white cat named PJ has been missing since Feb. 15, is not microchipped and was not wearing a collar.

At 3:39 p.m., a Lowell Street resident reported that someone he knew stole something from him and admitted it to others. Police are investigating.

At 4:29 p.m., a resident on Summit Street requested that an officer go to her brothers to see if he will give her cat to her.

Wednesday, Feb. 20

At 1:24 a.m., a resident reported that someone had driven over a bag of trash, and trash was all over the street.

At 9:48 a.m., a business owner reported receiving several messages on her voicemail from an elderly woman. Police tracked down the caller, who had dialed the wrong number.
