House Fire Knocked Down on Proctor Street

The fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in a multi-family home.

Peabody fire crews knocked down a house fire on Proctor Street Tuesday afternoon.

According to scanner reports, the blaze was first reported around 3:38 p.m. on the first floor of a multi-family home. Multiple engines responded to the scene. According to reports, the flames were doused within 20 minutes.

Engines from Lynnfield and Lynn provided station coverage while Peabody crews were at the scene. It did not appear there were any injuries. Proctor Street was temporarily closed to traffic.

Units at the scene said there were a total of four units in the building and approximately 10 residents who would be displaced at least for the evening. The Red Cross and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency were notified.
