Gloucester Man Crashes SUV Into Pole, Faces OUI, Child Endangerment Charges

The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Oct. 15-16.

Monday, Oct. 15

• 4:57 p.m. A manager at J. Crew reported finding a bullet in a fitting room. An officer retrieved the bullet and disposed of it.
• 4:59 p.m. Police received a report of a car into a telephone pole near 635 Lowell St. The driver, a 69-year-old Peabody, was not injured and was issued a court summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police said the airbag deployed inside the Cadillac sedan and the woman was taken back to her home by an officer. The car was towed from the scene.
• 5:06 p.m. A caller on Aborn Street reported someone vandalized some of the Halloween decorations on her front lawn. She said an inflatable decoration was damaged and a few wires were cut.
• 5:28 p.m. Police responded to another accident involving a car into a telephone pole, this time at the intersection of Route 114 and Cross Street. Police said the driver, a 33-year-old Gloucester man, was transported to Salem Hospital and issued a court summons for driving under the influence of alcohol. Child endangerment charges were also filed because there was a child in the vehicle, a 2001 black Ford Escape.
• 8:38 p.m. A County Street resident reported his moped was stolen.
• 9:17 p.m. An employee at T&L Liquors reported there was a male outside the store screaming and yelling into a cell phone. An officer checked the area and spoke with one male who said he was having an argument over the phone. Police said nothing seemed unusual otherwise and the man was sent on his way for the evening.
• 9:32 p.m. Police stopped a white 2000 Nissan Maxima at the corner of Tremont Street and Arielle Lane and confiscated a small amount of drugs.
• 10:59 p.m. Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Domino's Pizza in Wilson Square. See related story.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

• 7:01 a.m. A construction crew on Upton Street reported a theft of a windshield from a 2012 model Bobcat at the site. The windshield is worth about $2,000.
• 10:40 a.m. Police received a report of some medication stolen from a motor vehicle on Central Street.
• 11:55 a.m. An employee at Five Guys reported he received a counterfeit $5 bill from a customer.
