Four people were injured in an early morning crash crash on Lynnfield Street and one person was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Peabody Police Lt. Rich Callahan said the motor vehicle crashed into a utility pole near the Wardhurst Grill restaurant on 26 Lynnfield St. Sunday morning. Callahan confirmed that one person was transported to the Boston hospital, but he could not comment on the status of that individual's injuries.
Callahan also could not say if speed or alcohol were involved in the accident. He said the police report listing the names of the individuals involved and other details surrounding the accident had not been completed as of 9 a.m. on Sunday. Peabody firefighters also responded to the scene to extricate the victims from the vehicle.
Police scanner transmissions indicated there were four people in the car and two were transported to North Shore Medical Center in Salem by Atlantic Ambulance EMTs and two others were transported to Mass General.
