Fleeing Motorist Reaches 120 MPH on Route 128

A Lynn man was summonsed to court on numerous charges on Thursday.

Peabody Police summonsed a 29-year-old Lynn man to court after he fled police and accelerated to 120 mph on Route 128 on Thursday evening.

Peabody Police tried to stop the vehicle on Route 128 North in Peabody. The driver sped away and increased his speed to 120 mph on Route 128 North in Danvers.

State Police were called and a “be on the lookout” was announced over nearby police radio frequencies.

Beverly Police later spotted the vehicle parked and unoccupied on Bresnahan Court in Beverly.

Peabody Police identified the driver, summonsed him to court and charged him with failing to stop for police, recklessly operating a motor vehicle, speeding, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
