The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Oct. 29-30.

Monday, Oct. 29

  • 1:02 a.m. Orieta Peralta, 24, of 37 Cedar Grove Ave., Peabody, was arrested at his residence for domestic assault and battery.
  • 9:32 a.m. An officer responded to a report of a downed tree limb at the corner of Lowell and Birch streets and removed the hazard.
  • 11:05 a.m. Emil Sepulveda, 25, of 33 May St., Peabody, was arrested at his residence for domestic assault and battery and intimidating a witness.
  • 12:07 p.m. A caller on Lynnfield Street reported a tree fell in the roadway near her home. 
  • 12:46 p.m. A caller reported a tree and wires were down in the roadway on Route 114 near the Middleton and Danvers town line. Danvers police had already responded to the scene.
  • 1:04 p.m. A caller reported a tree was down with wires on Lynn Street.
  • 1:25 p.m. A caller reported a tree came down at Harmony Grove Road at the Salem line and caused the wires to spark. Police blocked off the intersection of Howley and Walnut streets while the tree was removed by DPS.
  • 2:02 p.m. Report of a wire down on Buttonwood Lane.
  • 2:23 p.m. Report of a tree down on a house on Elizabeth Lane.
  • 2:26 p.m. A caller reported an aluminum fence blew off of the lower annex roof of the Center School.
  • 2:33 p.m. Report of a tree branch that took down some wires on Coolidge Avenue.
  • 2:49 p.m. Report of a tree down on Fulton Street. Police brought some barricades to the area to redirect traffic.
  • 2:49 p.m. Police closed off Bartholomew Street at the Lynn Street end due to a large tree that was about to fall on Bartholomew Street. The tree was removed and the power lines were re-hung.
  • 2:53 p.m. A caller on Lowell Street reported a tree limb fell and damaged her car.
  • 3 p.m. Report of a tree down on Arielle Lane, blocking the roadway.
  • 3:02 p.m. Report of a tree and wires down on Gardner Street.
  • 3:05 p.m. Report of a tree and wires down across the roadway on Dane Street.
  • 3:06 p.m. DPS placed barricades on Abington Avenue to redirect traffic.
  • 3:13 p.m. Report of a tree down on a house on Tremont Street.
  • 3:16 p.m. Report of a tree and wires down on Loris Road.
  • 3:30 p.m. Report of a tree down on a house on Wahtera Road. Police said it didn't appear the house was damaged.
  • 3:32 p.m. Report of a tree down on Grandview Avenue.
  • 3:33 p.m. Report of branches and wires down on Tomah Drive.
  • 3:38 p.m. A caller reported the business sign for A&L Liquors and D&R Market was blowing off in the wind. An officer said the sign was blowing in the wind, but due to the weather conditions it didn't seem possible to secure the sign any better at the time.
  • 3:40 p.m. Report of a tree down in a driveway on Fulton Street.
  • 3:43 p.m. Report of a tree and wires down on Judith Road.
  • 3:52 p.m. Report of wires and branches down on Harris Street.
  • 4 p.m. Peabody officers responded to a rollover accident on Route 1 South. See related story.
  • 4:05 p.m. Report of a tree down near a house on Ellis Street.
  • 4:07 p.m. Report of a tree and wires down on Lake Shore Road. There was also possible damage to a car.
  • 4:10 p.m. Report of several poles and wires down at the corner of Endicott and Central streets.
  • 4:11 p.m. Report of a tree down on Harris Street, blocking the roadway.
  • 4:21 p.m. Report of a tree down on Bay State Road.
  • 4:21 p.m. Report of a tree down on some wires and the roof of a home on Summit Terrace.
  • 4:29 p.m. A caller reported a tree and wires fell on motor vehicles on Albert Road and another part of a tree was ready to fall on the person's home.
  • 4:37 p.m. Report of a pole about to break at the corner of Abington Avenue and Lenox Road and possibly bring down wires with it.
  • 4:39 p.m. Report of a tree down on Buttonwood Lane.
  • 4:48 p.m. A section of Lowell Street was closed after wires fell in the street. The road was reopened once PMLP re-attached the wires.
  • 4:48 p.m. Report of a tree down on some wires on Reo Road and pulling a pole down with them.
  • 4:50 p.m. Report of a telephone pole down in the woods off Lowell Street.
  • 5:01 p.m. An officer reported that a telephone wire to the high school repeater was down.
  • 5:04 p.m. Report of a pole snapping at the top at the corner of Lowell and Bourbon streets.
  • 5:05 p.m. Report of a wire and tree down on Brentwood Drive.
  • 5:18 p.m. A caller at Mobile Estates on Route 1 reported her neighbor's roof was about to come off.
  • 5:21 p.m. Report of a low-hanging wire in the roadway on Prospect Street, preventing vehicles from passing.
  • 5:27 p.m. Report of a pole breaking near Brown Pond off Lynn Street.
  • 5:29 p.m. Report of a tree down at Eagan Place.
  • 5:29 p.m. Report of a tree leaning on wires at the corner of Brookbridge Road and Surrey Lane.
  • 5:36 p.m. Report of a tree down on a house on Walter Road.
  • 5:39 p.m. An officer reported his car was hung up on wires that were strung across the road on Bartholomew Street.
  • 5:48 p.m. A caller reported a new fence and port-a-potties fell over at a Walnut Street site.
  • 6 p.m. Report of a wire down across Dudley Street.
  • 6:07 p.m. Report of a tree down on a house on Symphony Road.
  • 6:09 p.m. Report of a tree down on Route 1 South at the Danvers line, interfering with traffic. MassHighway was notified.
  • 6:12 p.m. Report of a tree down on Sheffield Road, lying partly in the roadway.
  • 6:14 p.m. Report of a tree down at the corner of Lowell and Birch streets.
  • 7:09 p.m. Report of a tree down on a house on Manor Drive.
  • 7:13 p.m. A caller reported a tree fell in her yard. She made arrangements to have the tree removed, but said it might be blocking the sidewalk.
  • 7:26 p.m. Report of a large tree limb down on Russell Street.
  • 7:37 p.m. Report of a tree down in a backyard, leaning against some wires on Herrick Road.
  • 7:46 p.m. Report of a large branch down with some wires on Paleologos Street.
  • 7:51 p.m. Report of a tree down on a house on Intervale Avenue.
  • 8:39 p.m. Report of a tree down at the corner of Lewis Circle and Diane Road.
  • 9:37 p.m. An officer reported a traffic light on Route 114 at the intersection with Esquire Drive was facing the wrong way. MassHighway was notified.
  • 9:40 p.m. Report of a clogged sewer drain on Route 114 near Jiffy Lube. MassHighway was notified.

Tuesday, Oct. 30

  • 1:23 a.m. An officer reported a telephone pole near 107 Lynn St. was leaning. PMLP was notified to check it out.
  • 1:39 a.m. An officer reported a tree was down across Baldwin Street.
  • 6:04 a.m. Report of a wire down across a driveway on Brookbridge Road.
  • 8 a.m. Report of a wire down in the roadway on Pulaski Street.
  • 9:06 a.m. Staff at Holiday Inn reported a car was broken into.
  • 9:22 a.m. Officers blocked off Gardner Street while PMLP crews repaired downed wires.
  • 9:23 a.m. Report of a vehicle rollover at the split of Route 128 and I-95 North. State police were on the scene and handling the incident. No injuries were reported.
  • 10:06 a.m. Dana A. Michaud, 20, of 14 Collins St. #6, Peabody, was arrested at his apartment for domestic assault.
  • 10:09 a.m. An officer assisted a PMLP crew while it picked up and reinstalled a downed main power line that was blocking the intersection of Surrey Lane and Elizabeth Lane.
  • 10:12 a.m. Report of a tree limb down on Cashman Road.
  • 10:40 a.m. A caller on Carol Ann Road reported his fence blew down and his dog, Rosa, escaped that morning. The Animal Control Officer told the man Rosa was at Borash Veterinary Clinic. There would be no penalties due to the circumstances, but the man was advised he would have to settle any boarding fees with the clinic.
  • 11:03 a.m. Krista R. McCaffrey, 24, of 454 East Third St., South Boston, was arrested for shoplifting at Nordstrom.
  • 11:03 a.m. Report of a tree down blocking the roadway on Harrison Avenue.
  • 11:17 a.m. Report of a tree leaning on wires on the bike path behind Lahey Clinic.
  • 12:22 p.m. An 18-year-old Salem female and a 17-year-old Peabody female were issued court summonses for shoplifting at JC Penney.
  • 4:08 p.m. A caller on Goodale Street reported an oil deliveryman fell in her yard. The 43-year-old man was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
  • 4:23 p.m. A female caller Nordstrom reported there were threats and a physical altercation between her husband and another person. Mall security responded to the scene. An officer said an argument occurred after a child stepped on another person's foot.
  • 4:26 p.m. Gail E. Zucchari, 45 of 52 Catalina Rd., Lynn, was arrested for shoplifting and receiving stolen property under $250 at JC Penney.
  • 5:07 p.m. Report of a wire down on Druid Avenue.
  • 6:02 DPS requested police close off Fulton Street to traffic while a crew removed a tree from a house.
  • 6:07 p.m Jose E. Lopez, 24, of 28 Malden St. #1, Everett, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop at the corner of Lake Street and Penny Lane. He was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving an unregistered vehicle and failure to display the owner's name.
  • 6:10 p.m. Reports of Walnut Street starting to flood.
  • 6:11 p.m. An officer reported Lowell Street was flooding at Baldwin Street. About 20 minutes later, DPS was on-scene clearing the storm drains.
  • 6:38 p.m. An officer assisted DPS in cleaning the storm drains on Walnut Street.
  • 6:40 p.m. An officer assisted DPS in cleaning the drains on Main and Foster streets.
  • 6:40 p.m. Sawyer Street was blocked off due to flooding.
  • 7:43 p.m. Corner of Main and Howley streets was flooded.
  • 8:04 p.m. An officer assisted DPS with cleaning storm drains on Pierpont Street.
  • 8:35 p.m. An officer assisted DPS with cleaning drains on Pleasant Street.
  • 8:43 p.m. Flooding reported at the corner of Aborn and Sutton streets.
  • 8:52 p.m. An officer assisted DPS with controlling flooding on Foster Street.
  • 8:59 p.m Report of Tremont Street almost impassable due to high water near Luso-American Credit Union.
  • 9:07 p.m. Report of a tree down on a house on Donegal Road.
  • 9:09 p.m A caller on Sabino Farm Road reported she believed her ex-husband was hiding in the woods behind her apartment building, talking to her through the fence. An officer spoke to the woman's daughter who said her father was at home in Seabrook, N.H.
  • 9:22 p.m. Report of Donegal Road starting to flood.
  • 9:24 p.m. An officer assisted DPS in trying to clear a flooded area on Margin Street.
  • 9:25 p.m. An officer assisted DPS in trying to clear a flooded area on Central Street.
  • 9:29 p.m. Flood control needed on Lowell Street near City Hall.
  • 10:03 p.m.  A caller said a vehicle struck that person's car and a pole on Washington Street and fled the scene. Police said the suspect vehicle -- a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer -- had extensive damage to the passenger side.
  • 10:08 p.m. An officer reported clearing a flooded area on Route 114 near the Route 128 bridge.
  • 10:21 p.m. An officer assisted DPS in clearing a flooded area on Wallis Street.
