Female Reports Fighting With Sister Over Lawn Mower Part

The following are excerpts from arrest reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Sept. 30 - Oct 1.

Sunday, Sept. 30

• 3:08 p.m. Police received multiple reports that a construction cap placed by contractors on Main Street near Santoro's was moved due to motor vehicles driving over it. Callers said there only about two inches of the excavated area showing originally and now it was closer to seven inches. Police attempted to contact the project contractor A.R. Belli, Inc. to no avail and Public Services was notified to block off that traveling lane until further notice.
• 5:39 p.m. A caller at McDonald's on Main Street reported another male spit at him and threatened him with a golf club. He said the male was still in the area in a car. Police said the suspect, a 25-year-old man, returned to the scene and apologized.
• 5:39 p.m. A North Andover woman reported she had reported her car was stolen on Sept. 19 and it was returned to her on Sept. 28 by her son.
• 5:43 p.m. A caller on Hancock Street reported youths were speeding up and down the street on "Pocket Rocket" motorized scooters. An officer checked the area, but said there were no kids on "Pocket Rockets," just regular bicycles.
• 6:01 p.m. A caller reported a female was smoking marijuana in the driver's seat of the woman's car outside Town Variety. Police checked the area, but did not find anyone.
• 6:25 p.m. Police were searching for a Salem man after his pickup truck slammed into a telephone pole near 560 Lowell St. Police said the man was driving a black Ford F350 with a back rack, stickers on the window and an extended cab. The truck hit the pole hard enough to move it a few inches, police said. Officers later found the truck at Four-Star Towing and charged Michael A. Gambale, 26, of 27 Buena Vista Ave., Salem, with leaving the scene of an accident and property damage. It was unclear from the log entry if he was taken into custody at that time.
• 7:57 p.m. A caller at the Walgreens on Route 114 reported two males wearing long coats were acting suspiciously and taking things off store shelves. Both males were asked to leave the store unwillingly.
• 10:12 p.m. A caller on Sprague Street reported property valued at $680 was stolen.
• 10:29 p.m. Police received a report of two sisters arguing over a lawn mower part at a Balgreen Drive home. The sister who initially called police, called back to say their assistance was no longer needed, her sister returned the part to her.

Monday, Oct. 1

• 1 a.m. A caller at a Central Street reported someone was possibly trying to break-in. Police said it was a just a visitor for an upstairs neighbor and the person had knocked on the wrong door.
• 1:36 a.m. A male was transported from a Winthrop Street home to Salem Hospital. EMS reported the male was intoxicated and having a heart attack, and requested police to respond as well. They said the male was fighting with medical personnel on Collins Street.
• 4:33 a.m. An elderly woman was found wandering in the street at the corner of Lynnfield and Bartholomew streets. She was taken to Lahey Clinic. Police were eventually abale to contact her son who came to pick his mother up. She was staying with her sister at Valley Circle.
• 5:02 a.m. A 42-year-old Peabody man was issued a court summons for breaking and entering for a felony, following a report of a disturbance at his residence at McIntyre Court. A caller reported the man was outside on the porch, causing a disturbance.
• 8:04 a.m. Police reported that at the site of a past construction job at 271 Lowell St., all the cones and barrels were removed, but the ground was sinking in and creating a traffic hazard. DPS was notified.
• 1:22 p.m. Jessica T. D'Amico, 30, of 95 High St., Stoneham, was arrested by Stoneham police on a warrant from Peabody and transported to the Peabody station for processing.
