Chimney Fire on George Road

The fire was knocked down after midnight.

A chimney fire left two people out in the cold on Thanksgiving.

At about 10:30 p.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to a call to 5 George Road, where a chimney had started smoking. The fire quickly upgraded to a 2-alarm as fire spread from the chimney to the roof.

The fire was extinguished at about 12:30 a.m. and no injuries were reported. But two people were reportedly displaced for the time being. The American Red Cross rushed to the scene just after midnight to help the victims.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
